Amazap Terms of Service
Effective date: October 9, 2026
Welcome to Amazap, the storefront for economic agents. These terms explain how Amazap works, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. We've tried to keep them short and readable. Please read them, because by using Amazap you agree to them.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
1.1 Amazap. "Amazap," "we," "us," and "our" mean Jesse Shrader, doing business as Amazap. Amazap is an independent project, not affiliated with Amboss or Amazon.
1.2 The Services. These terms cover amazap.com, the Amazap MCP server, our HTTP and L402 APIs, Amazap Basics, the catalog, quotes, checkout, receipts, and everything else we offer (together, the "Services").
1.3 Other documents. These terms include our Privacy Policy and, if you list a service or product, our Seller Listing Terms. If a specific Service has extra terms shown at the point of use, those apply too.
1.4 Accepting these terms. You accept these terms when you use the Services, including when you or your agent approve the Amazap MCP connection, call an Amazap endpoint, pay an Amazap invoice, or list something for sale. If you're accepting for a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and "you" means that company.
2. Key terms
- User (or "you"): the person or business that operates, deploys, or authorizes an AI agent or other software to use Amazap, or that uses Amazap directly.
- Agent: any AI agent, script, bot, or other software acting for a User.
- Credentials: API keys, L402 macaroons and preimages, MCP and OAuth session tokens, and any other key or token that gives access to your account or balance.
- Credits: prepaid Amazap service credits in your balance (see Section 7).
- Listing: a service or product shown in the Amazap catalog.
- Seller: a third party that offers a Listing, including API providers and sellers of physical goods.
- Amazap Basics: first-party services that Amazap provides itself, such as Page to Markdown.
3. Eligibility
3.1 You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. The Services are not directed to children.
3.2 You may not use the Services if you are located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions, or if you (or anyone who owns or controls you) are on a U.S. sanctions or restricted-party list, such as OFAC's Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list.
3.3 You must use the Services in line with the laws that apply to you.
4. You are responsible for your agents
This is the most important part of these terms for agent operators.
4.1 Your agent acts for you. Everything an Agent does through your account or Credentials counts as something you did. That includes every search, quote, purchase, top-up request, claim, instruction, and the data the Agent sends.
4.2 Spend and mistakes. You're responsible for all spend by your Agents, including spend caused by bugs, runaway loops, misconfiguration, hallucinated instructions, or prompt injection from content the Agent reads. Set budgets and caps that suit you. Our quote-and-cap features (for example, a maximum price on each purchase) help, but they don't replace your own controls.
4.3 Supervision. You agree to supervise your Agents in a reasonable way and to stop any Agent that's misusing the Services.
5. Accounts and credentials
5.1 Accounts. Approving the Amazap MCP connection, or otherwise starting to use a balance, opens an agent account. Some Services (such as calling Amazap Basics directly over L402) work without an account.
5.2 Keep Credentials secret. Store Credentials securely, don't share them, and rotate or revoke them if you think they've leaked. Tell us at support@amazap.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
5.3 Credential use is your use. Any transaction made with your Credentials is treated as authorized by you. We can't reverse Lightning payments or restore Credits lost because Credentials were leaked or misused, except as our Credits & Refund Policy (Section 7) says.
6. How the API marketplace works
6.1 Amazap is the merchant of record. When you buy an API call from a third-party Listing, you buy it from Amazap. Amazap buys that call from the Seller on its own account, pays the Seller from Amazap's own funds, and resells the call to you. Your counterparty is Amazap, not the Seller.
6.2 Quotes and prices. Before you buy, you can get a quote. A quote shows one all-in price, which is the price you pay. Quotes expire, and a purchase only goes through if the price is at or below the cap set on that purchase. If the price comes in higher, nothing is charged.
6.3 Amazap Basics. Amazap Basics are priced in U.S. dollars and charged in sats at the exchange rate locked in your quote.
6.4 Availability. Listings come from Sellers and public directories and can change, go offline, or be removed at any time. Some Listings may be shown for information only and may not be purchasable. We don't promise that any Listing will be available.
6.5 Limits. We may set per-call, per-day, or other limits on top-ups, spend, and usage per account.
6.6 Delivery. A purchased call is delivered when we return the Seller's (or our) response to your Agent. Your receipt shows what was bought, the price, and the delivery result.
7. Credits & Refund Policy
This section is our Credits & Refund Policy. It's also published at [amazap.com/credits].
7.1 What Credits are. When you top up, you pay a Lightning invoice to buy prepaid service credits. Your payment becomes Amazap's property, and your balance is a record of the Credits you can use. Credits can only be spent on services Amazap sells. Credits are not a bank account, deposit, e-money, or stored value, and they earn no interest. Credits give you no ownership of, or claim to, any bitcoin.
7.2 No cash-out or transfer. Credits can't be withdrawn, cashed out, redeemed for bitcoin or money, or moved to another account or user, except where the law requires cash redemption.
7.3 No expiry while active. Credits don't expire while your account is active. Credits are forfeited if your account has no activity for 12 consecutive months, or when the account closes. If we have a way to reach you, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before inactive Credits are forfeited. Where the law requires a different result (for example, cash redemption of a small balance), we'll follow the law.
7.4 Failed calls. A paid call counts as failed if it returns:
- an HTTP error or 5xx status;
- no response before the timeout;
- an empty or malformed response; or
- a response that clearly isn't the service described in the Listing.
A call that matches the Listing's description doesn't count as failed just because you don't like the result or its quality.
7.5 Re-credits. We re-credit failed calls to your balance as Credits, for the full amount you paid, Amazap's fee included. Failed calls are never refunded in sats or cash.
- Automatic: if we detect the failure at call time, we re-credit it right away.
- By claim: otherwise, send a claim with the call ID (for example, with the
claim_failed_calltool or to support@amazap.com) within 72 hours of the call. - Daily cap: re-credits are capped at $10 (U.S. dollar value at the time of the call) per account per day. We review amounts above the cap case by case.
- Our logs decide. Amazap's call logs (request, response status, timing, and payment proof) decide whether a call failed.
7.6 Not refundable. Successful calls, unused Credits (except as Section 7.3 says), Lightning network fees, and amounts lost to your own errors (for example, a wrong request or leaked Credentials).
7.7 Physical goods aren't covered by this section. See Section 8.
7.8 Abuse. We may refuse, reverse, or hold re-credits, freeze Credits, or close accounts if we see abuse, such as fake failure claims, scripted claim farming, stolen funds, or attempts to use Credits as a payment or transfer channel.
7.9 Changes to this policy. Changes apply from the date we post them. Credits you already bought keep the no-expiry-while-active status described above.
8. Physical goods
8.1 The Seller sells to you. Physical products on Amazap are sold by independent Sellers who fulfill orders through Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment from their own inventory. For physical goods, the Seller is the retailer of record and your contract of sale is with the Seller. Amazap provides the storefront, quote, and order routing, and isn't the seller of these products.
8.2 Quotes and payment. Your quote shows the total in sats: product price, sales tax, and shipping. You pay the Seller's own Lightning invoice directly. Amazap doesn't receive or hold those funds. Amazap charges its fee to the Seller, not to you.
8.3 Shipping. We currently ship to U.S. addresses only, and only to states where the Seller can lawfully sell and collect tax. Some states may not be available at checkout.
8.4 Seller responsibilities. The Seller is responsible for the product, its description and safety, sales tax, fulfillment, delivery, returns, and refunds, under the Seller's own return and refund policy shown at checkout or on the packing slip.
8.5 Refunds. Approved refunds are paid by the Seller for the U.S. dollar value of the refunded amount, converted to sats at the rate at the time of the refund, and sent to the Lightning destination you gave at checkout.
8.6 Help. If something goes wrong with an order, contact support@amazap.com with your order ID and we'll route it to the Seller.
9. Lightning payments and bitcoin
9.1 Payments are final. Lightning payments are final and can't be reversed, by you or by us. Check amounts and invoices before paying.
9.2 Price volatility. The value of bitcoin moves, sometimes sharply. Quotes lock an exchange rate only for that quote and only until it expires. The U.S. dollar value of sats you hold or pay may go up or down, and we're not responsible for those changes.
9.3 Network fees. You pay any Lightning routing or wallet fees on your side.
9.4 Your wallet. You're responsible for the wallet you pay from and for having enough liquidity to pay.
10. What Amazap is not
10.1 Amazap sells services (and, for physical goods, provides a storefront for Sellers). We don't hold bitcoin or money on your behalf, and we don't provide banking, deposit, custody, currency exchange, money transmission, withdrawal, or transfer services. Amazap is not a bank, exchange, or custodian of your funds.
10.2 Nothing on Amazap is investment, financial, tax, or legal advice. Talk to your own advisors.
11. Selling on Amazap
11.1 API Sellers. Anyone can offer an L402 service through Amazap. Listing creates no account, contract of employment or agency, or payout relationship beyond what the Seller Listing Terms describe. In short:
- your Listing must be accurate, lawful, and not infringe anyone's rights;
- Amazap sets the resale price, and you always receive your listed price for each paid call;
- Amazap never bills you or claws money back from you;
- Amazap may apply risk-based pricing and health rules, including pausing a Listing after failures and returning it with an "unhealthy" tag, as described in the Seller Listing Terms; and
- Amazap may delist you right away for fraud, illegal content, or security issues.
We may later settle Seller invoices only after successful delivery, if our payment provider supports it.
11.2 Physical-goods Sellers agree to separate seller terms covering their role as retailer of record, sales tax, fulfillment, returns, refunds, and Amazap's fee.
11.3 Seller content. Listings, descriptions, and API responses come from Sellers. Sellers give Amazap a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, index, describe, test, and resell their Listings as part of the Services.
12. Acceptable use
You and your Agents may not use the Services to:
- buy, sell, or promote anything illegal, or break any law;
- evade sanctions or export controls;
- commit fraud, launder money, or use stolen funds or Credentials;
- create, share, or seek child sexual abuse material;
- distribute malware or attack, probe, or disrupt Amazap, Sellers, or anyone else (including denial-of-service, credential stuffing, or getting around limits or security);
- use Amazap Basics (such as Page to Markdown or Page Screenshot) or any Listing to scrape, access, or copy content in violation of others' terms, access controls, robots rules, or rights, or to overload others' sites;
- infringe intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
- harass, threaten, or harm people, or process personal data unlawfully;
- file false failure claims or manipulate pricing, health signals, or listing rankings; or
- resell or wrap the Services to hide the identity of a sanctioned or prohibited user.
We may investigate and act on violations, including by refusing transactions, removing Listings, and suspending accounts.
13. Third-party services and disclosures
13.1 Seller content and outputs. Sellers create and control their services. Amazap doesn't control, review in advance, or guarantee API outputs, data accuracy, or third-party content, and isn't responsible for them. Use your judgment before relying on any output.
13.2 Third-party sites. Links to third-party sites and services are for convenience. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
13.3 Amboss. Amazap sends and receives Lightning payments through the Amboss API. Amazap is a flagship user of the Amboss API and an Amboss referral partner. Some links to Amboss, including Amboss Payments sign-up links, are referral links: if you sign up through them, Amazap may earn a referral credit. Amboss is not responsible for Amazap's Services.
14. Your content and our intellectual property
14.1 Your inputs. You keep your rights in the requests, parameters, and other content you or your Agents send ("Inputs"). You give us permission to use Inputs to provide, secure, and support the Services, including sending them to the Seller you're buying from. You confirm you have the right to send them.
14.2 Our Services. Amazap owns the Services, the site, the catalog compilation, and our software and brand. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services under these terms. Don't copy, reverse engineer, or resell the Services except as these terms allow.
14.3 Feedback. If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them without owing you anything.
15. Copyright and IP complaints
If you believe content on Amazap infringes your copyright or other rights, send a notice to our designated agent: Jesse Shrader, support@amazap.com. Include your contact details, the work you claim is infringed, the material and where it appears (URL or Listing), a statement of good-faith belief that the use isn't authorized, a statement that your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you're authorized to act, and your signature. Sellers can send a counter-notice to the same contact. We remove material and terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.
16. Trademarks
Amazap and its logos are our trademarks. Amazon, Fulfillment by Amazon, FBA, and Multi-Channel Fulfillment are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Amazap is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Amazon. We mention Amazon only to describe how Sellers fulfill orders. Other names and marks belong to their owners.
17. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, Amazap disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranties about accuracy, availability, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We don't warrant Seller services, outputs, or products. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.
18. Limitation of liability
18.1 To the extent the law allows, Amazap won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or bitcoin value, even if we were told they were possible.
18.2 To the extent the law allows, Amazap's total liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to Amazap in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) $100.
18.3 These limits apply to every theory of liability and even if a remedy fails its essential purpose. They don't limit liability that can't be limited by law.
19. Indemnity
You'll defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Amazap and its owners, staff, and contractors from claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your or your Agents' use of the Services, your Inputs, your Listings, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
20. Suspension and termination
20.1 By you. You can stop using the Services at any time. Closing an account forfeits unused Credits (see Section 7).
20.2 By us. We may suspend or end your access, freeze Credits, or remove Listings, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you've broken these terms, created risk or legal exposure for Amazap or others, or if the law requires it. Where it's practical and lawful, we'll tell you why. We may also change or discontinue any part of the Services. If we discontinue the API marketplace entirely, we'll give reasonable notice and handle unused Credits as the law requires.
20.3 What survives. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 4, 7.6, 9, 10, 13 to 19, and 22 to 25) survive termination.
21. International use and export
21.1 Physical goods ship to U.S. addresses only.
21.2 The API marketplace is available internationally where lawful. If you use Amazap from outside the U.S., you're responsible for complying with your local laws, including laws on bitcoin, data, and the services you buy.
21.3 You agree to comply with U.S. and other applicable export control and sanctions laws.
22. Taxes
For physical goods, sales tax is calculated in your quote and collected by the Seller. Otherwise, you're responsible for your own taxes related to your use of the Services, other than taxes on Amazap's own income.
23. Disputes
23.1 Talk to us first. Most issues can be fixed quickly. Before filing a claim, email support@amazap.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
23.2 Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
23.3 Venue. Any dispute will be heard exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and Amazap consent to their jurisdiction.
24. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version with a new effective date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice (for example, on the site, through the MCP, or by email if we have it). Changes apply going forward. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept them.
25. General
These terms are the whole agreement between you and Amazap about the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We aren't liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including Lightning network or provider outages. Notices to you may be given through the Services or to contact details you provided. There are no third-party beneficiaries.
